First 120 Jetour X70 Vehicles Delivered to Egypt, Chery Commercial Vehicle Seizes Initiative for Overseas Market Development after Epidemic2020-07-13
On July 2, the first batch of 120 Jetour X70 vehicles was loaded in Lianyungang Port to be shipped to Egypt. Afterwards Jetour X95, Jetour X70 Coupe and other models will be delivered to Egypt in batches.
With a superior location spanning Asia and Africa, Egypt is of great strategic significance to developing the African, the Middle East, West Asian and Arabic markets, and reaching out to Europe and America. With the second-largest population in Africa, it is one of Africa's three key economies, as well as one of Chery Commercial Vehicle's major overseas markets. It owns 5 to 7 million vehicles and the figure is growing by 20 percent annually, which shows its huge market potential.
Chery Holding Group has operated in Egypt for over 10 years since its entry into Egypt in October 2004. As a Chinese automaker with early presence in Egypt, Chery Holding's Jetour brand has leveraged its first-mover advantage and kept enhancing its overseas market competitiveness through outstanding products and services. Egypt is a typical tropical desert country that has high requirements for vehicles' heat resistance and power performance. Jetour has conducted adaptive development according to the local climatic and topographical features. Powered by a 1.5T engine with thermal efficiency of 37.1 percent and an 8AT premium combination, Jetour X70 has outstanding transmission efficiency, responsiveness and energy efficiency. Besides, it has an improved air conditioner cooling system fully meeting the need of localized products. Combined with an intelligent driver assistance system, a super large cozy space with 5/6/5+2 seats for choice, as well as the elegant appearance, it can offer Egyptian consumers better products and services.
Developing the Egyptian market marks a significant step of Chery Commercial Vehicle to seize the initiative for overseas market development. Covid-19 has made an impact on the global auto market, and sped up industrial reshuffle and market restructuring. In the post-epidemic era, private cars will be the most important transportation choice and create a new opportunity for overseas market development.
Facing the new situation, Chery Commercial Vehicle has forged ahead, taken the "crisis" as an "opportunity" and quickened the pace of globalization. In the first two quarters of 2020, it advanced the three-step strategy ("going out, in and up") in an accelerated way, and achieved brilliant results in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Angola and other markets, to maintain steady growth.
Chery Commercial Vehicle was scheduled to put 6 overseas plants into operation this year to increase its total overseas output to 100,000 units. It will gain a firm foothold in overseas markets by outstanding products and services.
